Leather strop

A leather strop is one of the handiest tools in a sharpening kit.
Use it to remove and burr and polish an edge to razor sharp after sharpening on stones or a diamond file.
Or maintaining a edge with regular stropping can keep it sharp will little effort for a very long time.
Similar to how a butchers steel is used but I find a strop leaves a finer edge, especially on very hard steel, or also for very thin, delicate edges like on high end kitchen knives.
They're also nice and light so a great addition to the hunting pack, or knife roll.
Made from my bark tanned leather with a jarrah timber backing.
These strops have a soft leather side with 1000 grit green polishing compound worked into it. They also come with a block if polish so it can be reapplied as needed.
Use the green side first and then finish with the hard leather side for a final extra fine polish and razor sharp edge.
